A Calendar of Caring

Year Round

Throughout the calendar year, St. MAM does a number of annual special drives to enrich the lives of our neighbors-in-need and sustain our vital pantry that supports them.  As federal support has fallen in sharp decline, these drives will be essential for us to successfully meet the needs of our community.  Please consider teaming with your book club, your neighborhood, your workout group – whatever alliance you have — and pull together a collection for St. MAM. On behalf of our neighbors, we would be so grateful.

Please use our Wish List to help fill the pantry.

Generosity on Repeat

Kentucky Gives Day & Give For Good

May 12 and September  10, 2026

Last year, we raised $11,649 for local families, but the need in our community continues to grow. We’re challenging our supporters to help us surpass that total in 2026.

Your gift during our upcoming giving days provides the food, housing, and emergency support our neighbors rely on. Are you ready to help us raise the bar for St. MAM?

Holiday Season

Thanksgiving Meal "Baskets" Collection

Annually October – November

Help our families have a Thanksgiving feast together. For Thanksgiving, St. MAM partners with Beargrass Christian Church, which collects the meal “baskets” to distribute to our families. Beargrass Christian Church is located at 4100 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville, KY 40207.

To participate, we typically ask you to pack a reusable grocery bag (or double brown bag) with the following:

  • Stuffing mix
  • 2 cans of carrots
  • 2 cans of green beans
  • 2 cans of cranberry sauce
  • 2 cans of yams
  • 1 bag of marshmallows
  • 1 box cake mix and icing
  • Turkey gravy
  • Corn muffin mix
  • and (if you are able) a $25 Walmart Gift Card for a turkey and other fresh items

In the meantime, please use our Wish List to help fill the pantry.

Drop off donations on November 8 from 2:30-3:30pm at Beargrass Christian Church

Bring The Merriment

Holiday Sponsor-a-Child Giving Gift Card Collection

Annually November – December

Experience the magic of the holiday season by helping families in our community! St. MAM invites everyone to sponsor local children in need by providing shopping gift cards to enrolled neighbor-clients. By empowering parents and guardians to choose meaningful gifts that reflect individual traditions, your generosity helps honor the season in a way that is personal and special for each family.

Souper Bowl of Caring

Annually in February

Time to plan your Super Bowl Feast and pick up some cans of soup for St. MAM! During the first two weeks of the month, help us restock our pantry with all sorts of canned soups — vegetable, chicken noodle, beef chilli, split pea, squash, corn chowder, and more. Have your friends each bring some cans to your party. Extra nachos for whoever brings the most.

You can always use our Wish List to help fill the pantry too.

A Viral Rally

The Great Cereal Box Domino Rally

Donating food and getting some fun out of it at the same time!

In 2026, Holy Spirit Elementary School students collected over 1500 cereal boxes within 4 weeks and set up a domino challenge.  The students earned themselves a Pajama Day!

This is the best ministry in Louisville. They answer the phone and provide services needed in our community. The food bank is not just a meal or two, it's fresh produce, dairy, meat, baked goods, shelf stable items and toiletries. They assist in rent, water and electricity help. If you need help please use them. They are an amazing resource. If you dont need them donate. I used them for 3 years, I'm now on my feet and donate every chance I get.
