About St. MAM

Since 1972, St Matthews Area Ministries (St. MAM) has been a cornerstone of Louisville’s 40207 community, serving residents facing chronic or episodic hardships. As a collaborative member of Louisville’s Association of Community Ministries (ACM), St. MAM also serves half of the 40220 area.

To our neighbors who need it most, St. MAM provides emergency financial assistance, helping to prevent utility disconnections and evictions. With a well-stocked food pantry, it ensures that no neighbor goes hungry, offering fresh produce, proteins, non-perishable items, and personal care supplies. Through an early essentials room and seasonal drives, St. MAM equips parents and caregivers to care for infants and youth. Finally, through its numerous opportunities for individuals to serve, St. MAM provides purpose and meaningful work for hundreds of volunteers at all stages of life.

By pulling together, St. MAM is creating a brighter future for the entire community.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is the best ministry in Louisville. They answer the phone and provide services needed in our community. The food bank is not just a meal or two, it's fresh produce, dairy, meat, baked goods, shelf stable items and toiletries. They assist in rent, water and electricity help. If you need help please use them. They are an amazing resource. If you dont need them donate. I used them for 3 years, I'm now on my feet and donate every chance I get.

St. MAM Services

Emergency Assistance

For those who qualify, St. MAM provides emergency financial assistance to aid families in remaining sheltered and retaining access to water and electricity.

Food & Personal Care Pantry

Supported by Dare to Care, USDA, and local grocers, St. MAM offers supplemental fresh produce, proteins, non-perishables, and personal care items through monthly appointments for neighbor-clients.

Essentials for Infants & Toddlers

Easing the load for parents and caregivers, St. MAM provides infant and toddler essentials such as formula, diapers, wipes, and baby shampoo.

Home-Bound Delivery

For those who qualify, St. MAM offers monthly food delivery for those who, due to age, illness, or mobility issues, are unable to come to the pantry in person.

Senior Commodities (CSFP)

For neighbors aged 60 or over and who are under the income threshold, St. MAM provides Senior Commodities Boxes in addition to the food and supplies available through our pantry.

Seasonal Programs

St. MAM annually offers Thanksgiving meal baskets, Holiday shopping support for children, and an annual school supply distribution.

While four dedicated, compassionate staff form the backbone of St. Matthews Area Ministries, we all know that the heart of our organization is the now almost 150 hardworking, committed volunteers who last year (2025) together logged 8, 037 hours of service.
